Big Dada Podcast #12

There’s a distinctly Caledonian flavour to this latest instalment of the Big Dada Podcast, with new music from Cale-funk’s rising star, Offshore, and of course the comforting tones of fellow ‘deen descendant, A La Fu. We think it’s one of the best podcasts to date. Our favourite new band are the wonderful Inspector Tapehead, their debut album ‘Duress Code’ is out now on Toad Records and if you’ve not heard them already you can check their new video for the Pherenzik Tear song here.

BETWEEN BEARS

Our man Mr. Nice in Melbourne has turned us on to a beautiful piece from Eran Hilali entitled Between Bears. Along with Mr Nice, we hope to be collaborating with Eran sometime in the near future.

REMIX ACTION

The Infesticons trilogy has entered it’s third and final installment with the Bedford Park LP and the last single Bombs Anthem has been reworked by A La Fu, it didn’t see the light of day as it failed to reach the mastering house on time but you can get it here for nada bing: A La Fu’s Ban The Bomb Remix

…well actually it is. For all our Russian friends A La Fu plays two sets at the 2010 Afisha Picnic Festival which takes place at Kolomenskoye, an idyllic park in Moscow.

Since 2004 Picnic has grown from a friendly gathering started by Afisha magazine into a huge one-day event attracting 50,000 visitors — a one-stop place to check out the very best young Moscow has to offer. The live-music bill features bands with international cult followings, such as the Editors, Janelle Monae, Roots Manuva alongside new names like Music Go Music and Metronomy as well as our very own A La Fu.

Hunt him down, ask him if he’s happy, tell him your life story…and hopefully enjoy his music.
